Rick Brown is the National Vice President of Transportation – Risk Strategy and Client Solutions at Axis Insurance. With over 25 years of experience in the Canadian transportation sector, Rick Brown leads the national risk strategy and client solutions practice at Axis Insurance. He brings a practical, hands-on perspective shaped by a career that began behind the wheel and evolved through leadership roles in fleet operations, risk management, and insurance.

Rick is known for building strong partnerships and translating complex transportation risks into actionable strategies that help clients protect their people, streamline operations, and grow confidently. His dual experience in fleet and insurance environments gives him a unique lens to bridge day-to-day realities with long-term goals.

An active contributor to industry advancement, Rick is a certified NATMI instructor and a recipient of the “Star Instructor” and “Subject Matter Expert” awards for delivering impactful leadership training and contributing to the development of certification programs. He also contributed to the development of the NATMI Certified Director of Safety – Canada (CDS-C) designation curriculum and the NATMI Fleet Accident Investigation Program, initiatives that are helping raise the bar for safety leadership in the industry. Rick also serves as Chair of the Northern Chapter and President of the Fleet Safety Council Conference Corporation, where he continues to champion professional development across the country.
