Calgary, Alberta, September 2024. Axis Insurance Managers Inc. (Axis Insurance) is thrilled to announce a new senior executive to the team. Ben Preston joins Axis as Senior Vice President of Energy, Transportation, & Agribusiness, bringing more than 20 years’ experience.
Ben started his career at a boutique firm specializing in oil and gas, where he quickly grew from drafting letters to managing some of the firm’s largest and most complex accounts. This early exposure provided solid foundation in understanding client needs and delivering tailored solutions.
During his time at Marsh, starting in the Business Development team Ben then went on to lead the SME team in the Calgary office for two years. After which he served as a Senior Vice President and Senior Relationship Officer for some of the largest multinational onshore contractors and producers in the oil and gas sector. During this time he looked after a $4MM global revenue book including offshore captive insurance companies, providing global coverage advice, premium calculations, collateral structuring—He also managed project teams globally to maintain an Excellence in Service delivery model, ensuring clients received top-tier support across borders.
Ben will continue this commitment to delivering innovative insurance solutions by driving regional development across Alberta and the prairies, focusing on energy, transportation, and agribusiness.
