I’m Maurice Vialette, the Vice President of Underwriting at Woodsure. With over 35 years in the commercial insurance industry, my journey has been centered around the wood products sector, where I specialize in crafting tailored insurance solutions that help our clients thrive.

My professional path began with Lumbermen’s Underwriting Alliance, where I dedicated more than 25 years to providing innovative property insurance solutions for the primary and secondary wood industries. I’ve been part of Woodsure since 2015, a leader in wholesaling comprehensive commercial insurance packages specifically designed for the secondary wood products market across Canada. Our expertise encompasses a diverse range of operations from truss plants and pallet mills to various other wood-related activities. Throughout both soft and hard market conditions, Woodsure has consistently been a reliable source of capacity.

My deep-rooted experience in the wood products sector allows me to deliver precise underwriting and develop insurance solutions that meet the unique needs of our broker partners and insurers. At Woodsure, I’ve played a pivotal role in expanding our business significantly, boosting both our premium volume and broker relationships, all while generating a highly profitable book of business for our insurer partners.
