Account Executive

I am Brian McLean, an Account Executive at Axis. My role involves working closely with clients to navigate the complexities of commercial insurance, ensuring they have the right coverage to protect and grow their businesses. 
 
I began my career in the insurance industry with Core Canada in 2014, and after a successful merger, I joined Axis Insurance in 2023. With 25 years of experience as a medium-sized business owner, I bring a unique perspective to my role, understanding the concerns and perceptions clients may have about insurance. My focus is on educating clients, helping them view insurers as partners rather than adversaries. 
 
My significant achievements include obtaining insights from my business ownership experience, which allows me to relate to clients and address their fears effectively. By educating clients about their options, I empower them to make informed decisions, aligning with Axis’ vision of transforming risks into opportunities for success. 
 
Outside of work, I am an avid sports enthusiast and participant. I enjoy cricket, golf, tennis, mountain climbing, and biking. I have successfully climbed Kilimanjaro, run the Comrades marathon, and participated in various marathons and mountain bike races. I have also represented Canada and South Africa in over-50s cricket teams. More importantly, I am a husband of 38 years and a father to three children.
