Manager, Commercial BSAA

I’m Andrea Gordon, a Manager with the Commercial BSAA department at Axis, specifically within the Transportation Practice Group. In my role, I focus on building strong relationships with clients, underwriters, and business partners, prioritizing effective coverage strategies and industry specific solutions. As a manager, I guide and support our team in delivering exceptional service and empower them to be confident and effective in each of their roles.

With over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, I have gained extensive knowledge and expertise in various roles. I hold a diploma in general business and after finishing college, started working at a small mutual insurance company working my way up from the mailroom to underwriting home and small business accounts. After a few years, I started at an insurance company where I worked as an underwriting assistant, gaining knowledge on how accounts are underwritten and reviewed. I then moved into an insurance broker role, working on construction and contracting accounts for eight years. I joined Axis at the beginning of 2015, working mainly on passenger transportation accounts, and most recently became Manager of the Transportation Practice Group. I am licensed in several provinces including Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, and Nova Scotia.

At Axis, where “risks shape success,” I help our clients understand their exposures and navigate risk with confidence. My goal is to support our clients, helping them manage their risks with informed decisions and tailored solutions.

Outside of work, I like spending time outdoors walking and enjoying the sunshine. The beach is my favourite place to be. Spending time with my family is essential – we are huge sports fans and love going to Blue Jays games and watching basketball and football. I also love photography, fashion, and traveling.
