I’m Suzie Rae, National Senior Vice President of the Transportation Practice Group at Axis Insurance. In my role, I provide comprehensive insurance and risk management solutions tailored to the needs of the passenger transportation, construction, and manufacturing industries. I focus on understanding the unique challenges these sectors face and creating strategies that not only mitigate risks but also lower clients’ Total Cost of Risk. By evaluating insurance premiums, retained losses, and risk control costs, I help clients implement solutions that improve their operations and long-term resilience. 

With over 30 years of experience in the insurance and risk management industry, I’ve gained extensive expertise in developing innovative strategies for complex challenges. I hold a CAIB designation, along with a diploma in business and marketing, which reflect my commitment to professional excellence. As one of Canada’s leading insurance professionals in passenger transportation, I’ve earned the trust of clients and industry peers alike. I’m also proud to serve as an executive member of The ISC Group, where I help promote gender equality and support women in re/insurance leadership. 

Outside of work, I’m passionate about giving back to my community through charity initiatives and mentoring young professionals, particularly women in business. Staying active is essential to me—I enjoy hiking, cycling, running, rowing, and walking my dog, Beatrice. When I’m not outdoors, I love sharing quality time with family and friends or exploring healthy cooking. Balancing work, wellness, and meaningful relationships keeps me energized and ready to help clients succeed.
