I’m Barrie Latter, Lead Consultant for Public Sector + at Axis Insurance. I bring over 15 years of insurance and risk management experience, with a career focused on supporting municipalities and public sector organizations across Canada. In my role, I help clients strengthen their resilience by designing strategic insurance programs that reflect their operational needs and long-term goals.

My background spans leadership positions with Alberta Municipalities, Marsh Canada, Hub International, and Aon. These roles allowed me to refine my expertise in municipal risk, complex placement strategies, and public entity program leadership. I have developed reciprocal insurance models, led large scale placement initiatives for cities and institutional clients, and built marketing and analytical frameworks that improve both coverage outcomes and process efficiency. I hold a Diploma in Insurance, the CRIS designation, a Level 2 General Insurance License in Alberta, and a B.Sc. in Construction Project Management.

At Axis, I focus on bringing together technical insurance knowledge and a practical understanding of how municipalities operate. I work closely with city stakeholders to ensure insurance strategies are aligned with current priorities and future planning. My goal is to provide clients with clarity, confidence, and solutions that give them greater control over their risk.
