I’m Steve, Senior Loss Control Specialist at Axis Insurance. I bring over 30 years of experience in safety, engineering, and risk management, helping clients and underwriters gain clarity and confidence in their risk profiles. In my role, I conduct onsite evaluations for Property Damage, Business Interruption, and Commercial General Liability, providing practical guidance that supports exposure reduction and loss prevention. 

My career began as a safety officer in the trucking industry, where I built a strong foundation in accident prevention and operational safety. I later transitioned into insurance as a Motor Fleet Loss Prevention Specialist and completed my training as a Risk Engineer. Over the years, I developed specialized expertise in Product Liability and have assessed risks across a wide range of industries including wood and metal manufacturing. 

I am committed to advancing industry knowledge through safety training, the development of educational materials on emerging risks such as lithium ion batteries and combustible insulation, and mentoring new field staff through tailored training programs. My approach is pragmatic and data driven, focused on preventing loss before it occurs and supporting clients in making informed, confident decisions. 

I also hold my Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation, reinforcing my commitment to professional excellence and continuous learning.
