In our Talent Top 10 series we give readers the chance to get to know the friendly faces behind the Axis Insurance Group agencies. This week we asked 10 questions to our talented staff member Raquel Cooper – Account Executive.
1. What’s involved in your current role at Metrix Professional Insurance Brokers? Did you start in this role or did you take a specific career path to get here?
I started my career in the insurance industry in 1996. After having the opportunity to work in different areas, including Surety and Marketing, I landed in Professional Lines in 2002, where I have been ever since. My focus is servicing and continuing to develop a portfolio of Professional Lines including Law Firms, Architects and Engineers and Insurance Brokers.
2. What’s your favourite TV show that you’re currently watching?
I hate to admit this but after our kids are tucked in for the night, my husband and I watch reality TV.
3. What’s the culture of your team?
We are fortunate to have a team of professionals that place a strong focus on collaboration.
4. If you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you’d do?
Travel to various countries with my family while searching for a vacation home.
5. What has been the highlight of your career working at Metrix so far?
Taking on the advisory role in our Law Firm practice group.
6. What three traits define you?

7. What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
My family.
8. Before working at Metrix, what’s the most interesting job you had?
I have only worked at two other Insurance Brokerages, unless you count the paper route as a teenager. It was short-lived due to the ‘friendly’ neighborhood dogs.
9. If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
My husband’s mother. She passed away many years before we started our family but I would love to hear stories about my husband as a child.
10. What have you gained from working at Metrix?
