Account Administrator, Underwriting

I am Matthew Donelon, an Account Administrator in the Underwriting department at Axis Insurance. In my role, I support both administrative operations and front-line underwriting. Since joining the team in June 2024, I have managed policy setup, renewals, and transactions in Epic, issued documentation to brokers, and maintained account records. I have also expanded my responsibilities to include underwriting programs directly for brokers, helping deliver timely and competitive coverage options. 

I have nearly four years of experience in the insurance industry. I began my career in Personal Lines in Ireland, where I earned my insurance license, and later moved to Vancouver to transition into Underwriting and obtain my Level 1 BC license. My focus at Axis is to provide brokers and their clients with agile solutions that keep pace with changing business needs.  

I take pride in helping clients navigate uncertainty with clarity. Whether refining bordereaux reporting or proactively managing expirations, my goal is to ensure every risk-taking decision is supported with accuracy and care. 

Outside of work, travel fuels my curiosity. I have lived in Australia and spent time exploring Southeast Asia. When I am home, you will usually find me running, hiking, or playing soccer.
