Joel Wisneski

Senior Vice President, Aviation & Aerospace

I am Joel Wisneski, Senior Vice President, Aviation and Aerospace at Axis Insurance.  I bring nearly two decades of aviation insurance expertise, backed by a 20-year career as a software and systems architect for major insurance companies and Fortune 100 clients. I combine my deep technical knowledge, industry insight, and hands-on aviation experience to support the unique needs of operators across the sector.

My approach centers on strong communication and analytical skills. As an active pilot and aircraft owner, I have first-hand insight into the challenges of owning and operating private and commercial fixed-wing and rotorcraft fleets, as well as flight schools, aerial applicators, maintenance and overhaul facilities, FBOs, and other specialized aviation operations.

Before entering the insurance industry, my career began at my family’s hunting and fishing resort in Ontario, where I worked as a commercial float pilot. That early foundation in aviation, paired with years spent architecting IT systems in insurance, ultimately brought me back to supporting the growth and safety of the aviation community through insurance and risk management strategies.
