Supporting People & Communities Across Canada
At Axis Insurance, we are dedicated to supporting the communities where we live and work. Our commitment goes beyond providing insurance solutions; we actively participate in community events and support non-profit organizations across Canada. This page highlights some of the initiatives we are proud to be a part of, reflecting our dedication to making a positive impact.
Our support extends to various causes that touch the lives of Canadians, such as the Arthritis Society and Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. While this page features some of our efforts, we continually seek ways to contribute and support the diverse needs of our communities. Together, we strive to make a difference, one step at a time.
Canuck Place Children’s Hospice
Axis Insurance is honored to support Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, a compassionate haven for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families across BC and the Yukon. Canuck Place provides services such as medical respite, pain management, and grief counseling at no cost to families. Their holistic approach, which includes art, music, and recreation therapy, allows children to find joy and creativity during challenging times.
Operating out of Glen Brae Manor in Vancouver and Dave Lede House in Abbotsford, Canuck Place is the only provider of pediatric palliative care in BC and the Yukon. They offer comprehensive support from diagnosis through illness progression, addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of each child and family member. Axis Insurance’s support of Canuck Place reflects our commitment to the well-being of our communities and the importance of compassionate care.
Greater Vancouver Food Bank
Axis Insurance proudly supports the Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB), an essential resource providing healthy food to those in need across Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, and the North Shore. Every December, our employees participate in a donation drive, with Axis Insurance matching their contributions dollar for dollar. In 2023, this initiative resulted in over $10,000 being matched by Axis Insurance, amplifying our impact and demonstrating our commitment to healthier communities.
The GVFB relies on the generosity of the public and partners like us to distribute over 5.8 million pounds of food to more than 16,000 individuals and families each month. With over 1,300 volunteers contributing 50,000 hours annually, the GVFB ensures that approximately 60% of food supports individual clients, with the remainder aiding Community Agency Partners. Axis Insurance’s involvement reflects our commitment to community well-being and the significance of every contribution towards a sustainable support system for those facing food insecurity.
