Lorraine Berrington

Director of Commercial Lines

I’m Lorraine Berrington, Director of Commercial Lines, Broking Services and Account Administration at Axis Insurance. Over my 30 years in the insurance industry, I’ve built strong relationships with insurer partners and gained experience in account management, training and development, and team leadership. Prior to Axis, I spent 18 years leading the service team at The Magnes Group (now part of Axis Insurance). Now in my role as Director of Commercial Lines, I focus on delivering exceptional client service while mentoring and supporting my staff in their professional growth.

Originally from South Africa, I relocated to Canada in 2003 and quickly adapted my skills to the North American market. I bring energy and professionalism to my work every day and take pride in being a trusted advisor known for integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to connect with people. I’m also an executive member of The ISC Group, where I advocate for gender equality and support women in insurance leadership.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, especially my two daughters. I’m passionate about the outdoors, whether hiking, camping, or exploring nature, as well as traveling and experiencing new cultures. Giving back to my community is important to me, and I volunteer with local programs, including food assistance initiatives.
