Chris Haslock
National Claims Account Manager, Aviation & Aerospace
I am Chris Haslock, National Claims Account Manager for Aviation and Aerospace at Axis Insurance. I help aviation operators across Canada navigate complex claims with clarity and steady communication. My role focuses on connecting operators, adjusters, and insurers so clients receive informed, practical, and fair outcomes during high pressure events.
My aviation background includes years as a commercial helicopter pilot in utility, resource, and specialized operations, followed by senior operational and executive leadership roles. Experience in high consequence and remote environments shaped my understanding of safety culture, pilot decision making, and operational pressures. During this time, I led safety and training programs, collaborated with regulators, and contributed to a team recognized with Shell Aviation’s Excellence in Safety Award.
At Axis, real world operational insight helps me interpret technical aviation details and strengthen the claims process. Collaboration with underwriting and broking teams allows me to identify trends, align operations with insurance structures, and improve national claims workflows and reporting. The goal is always to help clients understand their risks clearly and make informed decisions throughout the claims journey.
I am an MBA candidate at Royal Roads University and am completing my CAIB designation. My credentials also include a Canadian Commercial Helicopter Pilot license. Engagement with the aviation community continues through industry events, safety focused discussions on LinkedIn, and my work with the Utility and Powerline Construction Committee. I also mentor emerging aviation leaders and remain an active member of the Project Management Institute.
Outside of work, interests include mountain and cross country biking, aviation, travel, leadership development, and small business creativity. I share an active family life with my wife and two daughters.
