I’m Jack Mazakian, Senior Vice President, Financial Institutions at Axis Insurance. With more than 38 years of experience in the Canadian insurance industry, I help financial institutions navigate complex risk, regulatory, and insurance challenges with clarity and confidence.

My focus is helping financial institutions design and strengthen insurance and risk management programs in highly regulated and rapidly evolving environments. I work closely with financial institutions to address professional liability, governance, operational, cyber, and emerging risks while ensuring insurance strategies align with business objectives, risk appetite, and regulatory responsibilities. 
 
Throughout my career, I have held senior executive, practice leadership, and principal broker roles with Advocis Broker Services, Watford Insurance Brokers, BFL CANADA, and Willis Towers Watson. Through these roles, I have led national financial institution practices, built brokerage operations, managed complex insurance programs, and supported teams across Canada. I have also worked extensively with insurers, Lloyd’s markets, and strategic partners to develop solutions for organizations with sophisticated risk profiles. 
 
My approach is practical and collaborative. I believe effective risk management starts with understanding an organization’s goals, challenges, and responsibilities. By identifying material exposures and aligning insurance strategies with broader business needs, I help clients strengthen resilience, make informed decisions, and create long-term value.
