Employee Benefits Service Specialist
I am Kathy Callan, an Employee Benefits Service Specialist at Axis. I support clients across the full scope of group benefits administration by serving as their primary contact for insurer coordination, plan member questions, and day-to-day service needs. My focus is to make benefits programs and claims processes clear, efficient, and easy to navigate.
Recently joining the employee benefits field has given me the opportunity to learn from experienced team members including Jennifer Harris and Barb Hodges. My GBA1 exam is complete, and I am currently working toward GBA2 to deepen my technical foundation. This education supports my work on the service side of group benefits for smaller organizations, particularly those in mining, exploration, and venture capital. Alongside this, I assist Becky with preparing renewals, plan reviews, and marketing proposals that help clients understand their options and make informed decisions.
A key part of my role is reviewing benefits contracts and booklets to confirm accuracy and alignment with each client’s goals. I help clients resolve claims questions, understand complex topics, and feel confident in administering their plans. I aim to reduce uncertainty by offering clear explanations and practical support, which reflects Axis’s commitment to helping clients navigate risk with clarity and confidence.
I enjoy contributing to a division that is growing and evolving. My goal is to provide dependable service that supports strong client relationships and a smooth benefits experience. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, yoga, and meditation. My favorite sport is badminton, and I am a big country music fan.
