I’m Jared Rurka, an Account Executive with the Agribusiness team at Axis Insurance in Calgary. I work with businesses to identify risk exposures, develop tailored insurance solutions, and build long-term partnerships that support sustainable growth. My role focuses on helping clients better understand their coverage options so they can make informed decisions with confidence.

I work primarily with agribusiness clients and have a growing interest in agricultural services, construction, property management, and manufacturing. What draws me to these industries is the opportunity to understand how each operation functions, the challenges it faces, and the role a well-designed insurance program can play in supporting long-term success.

Growing up in a rural Alberta community shaped the way I approach my work today. Having firsthand experience with the people, businesses, and values that define these communities allows me to better understand the challenges many of my clients face. I believe effective risk management starts with understanding the operation behind the policy. By learning how a business runs and what matters most to its owners, I can help create insurance solutions that are practical, relevant, and aligned with their goals.

Before joining Axis, I built experience in both sales and real estate, developing a strong foundation in client service, relationship management, and business development. I earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary and hold a Level 2 General Insurance Licence. As I continue to grow my insurance expertise, I am fortunate to learn alongside experienced industry leaders such as Jenn Kent and Russ Stewart, whose mentorship continues to shape my professional development.

Outside of work, I enjoy weightlifting, running, and travelling, particularly to destinations where I can spend time surfing or scuba diving. I also enjoy exploring Calgary’s restaurant scene and discovering new places around the city.
