About Nadene Beemish:

“Nadene began her insurance career in 1985 at a small insurance agency in Vancouver in the auto/personal lines department. From there she moved to the Commercial side of the business, working on the brokerage side taking on roles of CSR and Marketer. In 1991, she left her role at Johnson & Higgins (now Marsh) to travel and work in Australia this was an amazing experience and the memories & friendships she created will always remain with her!

When Nadene returned to Canada, she resumed work at her previous brokerage taking on roles with more responsibility. Eventually, she left Johnson & Higgins to join an Independent Construction brokerage in Burnaby. After 14 years and moving up to the position of EVP Marketing, Nadene then joined Shaw Sabey for a new challenge. Shaw Sabey was a company of approximately 45 people when she first started, and are now a group of 7 entities with a total employee count in excess of 170! Nadene now has the pleasure of working with a fantastic Team, the IBT division.

Over the years, Nadene has developed many strong relationships within the industry. She is able to use her experience/skills from being involved in various markets conditions to help Axis Insurance grow as the Group continues to see the difficult market conditions we are all currently experiencing. As someone who has been through a hard market, Nadenes advice would be to think outside of the box, talk things through with your managers and/or peers, challenge the status quo, and be creative.

Nadene is a huge sports fan and when not at work, she enjoys supporting her 3 kids in their sport of choice although, they dont always appreciate her enthusiasm at game time! She is proud to have raised her kids as a single parent since they were very young while at the same time maintaining her full time career.

Nadene believes that success comes from being open to new ideas and strategies and having great people around to learn from and provide support. Throughout her career, she has been very fortunate to have had people to help guide her and answer her questions. As such, Nadene is dedicated to providing the same mentorship and support that others offered her in her career development!
